Welcome to the Carnarvon Baseball 2019 Spring Season!

Important Registration Dates

Spring Baseball Regular Registration Open from January 19th to February 19th, with late registration running until registration CLOSES on February 25th, with some exceptions as follows.

  • There will be no late fees for Blastball and T-Ball, and their registration will remain open until March 31st.
  • Tadpole registration will remain open until March 15th, with late fees applied starting February 20th.
  • SIBL will close when teams are made, late fees apply on March 15th. 
  • Coach Registration will remain open until March 31st.

We'll be running assessments and selecting teams thereafter, so please do not hesitate, register ASAP!

Player Registration

Please note that with our new registration system players are registered under "Player". Note: you MUST leave your players email address BLANK if they're under 13 years old.

  • If your player is selected t for Mosquito or PeeWee Prospects, an additional fee will apply.
  • PeeWee AA and Bantam AA teams will also be required to pay additional fees. Program registration will provide more details on these fees.

Coach Registration

Coach Registration is now open so you will need to register as well, please register under "Staff".

Volunteer Commitment Opt Out Fee

Similar to last year, Carnarvon has introduced a "Volunteer Opt Out Fee" of $200. If you wish to not sign up for a volunteer position then please add this item to your cart at the end of the Registration Process. See details below under "Carnarvon Volunteer Policy".

Volunteer Commitment Registration

Volunteer Commitment Registration will open in February and jobs will be chosen on a first come first served basis. Please see the Volunteer Tab on the website for the jobs available.

CARNARVON VOLUNTEER POLICY: 

The Carnarvon Ball Club is run solely by volunteers. We want youth in our programs to develop their ball skills but most of all to have fun, be active, and make friends. Carnarvon is a large, vibrant, and highly successful ball club. But we need YOU to continue to make that happen; we need people with all kinds of skills sets and interests. When we do not have enough volunteers, our programs suffer and our families' experiences do too. 

There are two types of volunteering required:  Team Duties and Club Duties.

Team Duties support your child's team and include Scorekeeping, Field Prep, Field Marshall and Concession Duty (for home games only).  Purchasing the "Club Duty Opt Out Fee" does not release a family from completing "Team Duties".  You cannot opt-out of Team Duties. 

Club Duties support the operation of the Club as a whole and include duties such as Coaching, Team Manager, Coordinating, Communications, helping with Equipment, Facilities, Field Maintenance, Opening or Closing Ceremonies, Uniforms, Fundraising and Board positions.

For Club Duties, each Carnarvon FAMILY has 2 options during spring registration: 

  1. Sign-up for a Club Duty and provide a $200 Club Duty Deposit Cheque or 
  2. Purchase a $200 Club Duty Opt Out Fee at the Online Store.  

Please make your $200 Club Duty Deposit cheque payable to "Carnarvon Ball Club" and post-date to June 30, 2019. Include your child (children's) name(s) and "baseball", "softball" or "both" in the note. Only one Volunteer Commitment Deposit cheque is required per family. If you completed your Club Duty before the end of the season, your deposit cheque will be destroyed.

  • Club Duty payments and/or deposit cheques are not required for Coaches.
  • Club Duty sign-up will open in February and jobs will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.  We have a variety of positions available (BaseballSoftball,Executive / Club-wideBasketball) but if you do not see something that suits your skills - please let us know. We will be happy to find a position that works for you!

How do I provide my Volunteer Commitment Deposit cheque? 

  • For Mini Baseball Blastball & T-Ball - Bring your cheque to the first practice (exact date TBA).
  • For Tadpole & Mosquito - Bring your cheque to the player assessment on April 6, 2019.
  • For PeeWee, Bantam, Midget - Bring your cheque to the player assessment on April 6, 2019.  
  • For PeeWee AA, Bantam AA - Bring your cheque to the player assessment on March 2, 2019.
  • For Softball - Mail (or drop-off) your cheque to Carnarvon Ball Club, c/o Lisa Rogers, 2880 Dean Ave. Victoria, BC, V8R 4Y2

Note: If you have a child in the Softball program and another child in the Baseball program, please follow the instructions above for the program that the OLDEST child is registered in.

What if I am unable to Volunteer? 

Carnarvon Ball Club does understand that there are certain circumstances that lead to families not being able to volunteer. If you know that you will not be able to fulfill a volunteer position for the season, you will have the option to pay $200 WHEN YOU REGISTER and "Opt-Out" of your volunteer requirements. Only one "Volunteer Opt-Out Fee" is required per family. There are no exemptions from volunteering for any families, other than the Opt-Out process above.

What happens if I don't pay the Opt-Out Fee or provide the Volunteer Commitment Deposit?

Players will not be given a uniform until the Opt-Out Fee is paid online or the Volunteer Commitment Deposit cheque is received.

We sincerely hope the Carnarvon Volunteer program will continue to bring new life and renewed energy in to the Club. With your help, we can continue to provide all of our children and youth with exceptional community baseball and softball experiences.  With a little help from all of us, the future looks bright and the kids can keep playing!

CARNARVON BALL CLUB REFUND POLICY: If a refund is requested before April 15th, Carnarvon will refund the full amount - minus a $25 administration fee. No refunds will be considered after April 15th without a letter from a medical doctor. Refund requests can be emailed to: carnarvonballclub@gmail.com
